General Info:

Begin and end your journey where Old World meets New, in historic San Juan, littered with more than 400 restored Spanish colonial buildings. Then explore Puerto Rico’s best-kept secret: the island of Culebra. It’s a natural paradise, home to one of the oldest bird sanctuaries in the United States and to Playa Flamenco, rated the third-best beach in the world. As you continue on this bewitching cruise through the Virgin Islands, no two days are alike. One day, you’re shopping chic French boutiques for the latest fashions from Paris. On another, snorkeling a secluded cove known only to lucky yachtsmen – like you. Skip more common and commercial ports like St. Thomas and Philipsburg in favor of less-visited destinations like Marigot and Montserrat. Bypass the major cruise terminals in favor of exclusive marinas and anchorages. And as guests on larger cruise ships take an excursion from Tortola to reach tiny Jost Van Dyke, your elegant yacht is already there.

Type of Vessel

With all-suite and only 212 guests, a Star Legend cruise will make you feel like you're on board your own private yacht almost as soon as you step aboard. The sitting area of your spacious, newly refurbished suite gives you an expansive ocean view, making it a welcome retreat. When you're ready to make an appearance, the lounges, club, casino and library are waiting to be explored. Take some you time in the tranquil WindSpa, enjoy a dip in the pool, work off that decadent dessert in the Fitness Center and visit the Bridge to examine navigation charts with the Captain.
Star Legend is large enough to pamper and entertain you, yet small enough to tuck into delightful tiny harbors and hidden coves that others can’t reach.

Itinerary

Day 1: San Juan, Puerto Rico | One of the biggest and best natural harbors in Caribbean, the festive city of San Juan offers the perfect opportunity for experiencing true Puerto Rican culture. A must-see in San Juan is the 465-year-old El Viejo San Juan neighborhood where the streets are paved with adoquine. Visit El Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th century citadel named a UNESCO World Heritage Site or El Yunque, the only subtropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest Service. Since more than 70% of the rum sold in the U.S. comes from Puerto Rico, a sampling trip to a rum distillery is a must, as is a visit to one of the lovely beaches.
Day 2: Isla Culebra, Puerto Rico | Also aptly known as Isla Chiquita, Isla Culebra is only seven miles long and three and a half miles wide. It boasts pristine, soft-white-sand beaches and crystal-clear cays. In 1909 a bird refuge was established and since then much of Culebra is protected as a nature preserve by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is one of only two nesting sites for giant sea turtles in the U.S. In addition to the lovely beaches, the long coastline is marked by mangrove forests and cliffs. Mount Resaca, with an elevation of 650 feet, is the highest point of the island.
Day 3: Gustavia, St. Barts | The Caribbean’s most chic island adds a French flair to Riviera-like beaches and duty-free boutiques. Walk past gingerbread cottages in search of celebrities, shop for designer fashions, or sip the island’s signature ti punch as kite surfers fly by.
Day 4: Little Bay, Montserrat, BWI | Little Bay is a town under construction. The intention is for Little Bay to become the capital of Montserrat. The current capital of Plymouth was abandoned when it was buried by the 1995 eruption of the Soufriere Hills Volcano. Montserrat island is about 10 miles long and almost seven miles wide with approximately 25 miles of coastline. Its nickname is The Emerald Isle of the Caribbean, for its resemblance to Ireland and the Irish ancestry of many Montserrat inhabitants. Diving is a popular activity in Little Bay with its beautiful, clear waters. Rendezvous Beach is the only white-sand beach found on Montserrat, accessed by a steep seven mile trail from Little Bay or by boat.
Day 5: Philipsburg, St. Maarten | It's been some 300 years since the Dutch and French established a truce on tiny St. Maarten, dividing the island into two delightfully distinct yet amicable parts. So amicable, in fact, that you can cross back and forth freely from one side to the other. Philipsburg is the vivacious capital of the Dutch half. Along Front Street, the citrus-colored buildings are home to gourmet restaurants, lively casinos and some of the best duty-free shopping in the world. Pause for a taste of the local guavaberry rum, listen to street musicians play on the broad boardwalk or head to the French-side village of Grand Case for conch fritters and quaint Creole architecture.
Day 6: Jost Van Dyke, Great Harbour, B.V.I. | This tiny island with the wood-shack architecture and a pirate namesake is a legend in yachting circles. Snorkel in the sparkling waters of Diamond Cay before a dip in the world-famous natural Jacuzzi of Bubbly Pool.
Day 7: Virgin Gorda, Prickly Pear Beach, B.V.I | The shallow reef keeps larger ships out, but admits us with room to spare. Choices here include sea turtles, the famous granite grottoes of The Baths, and the coral paradise of Anegada with its miles of white beach.
Day 8: San Juan, Puerto Rico | We return to our departure port city. Continue to the explore the island and add a post-cruise stay at one of Journese many portfolio options.
