Itinerary

Day 1: Your Home Town / Scottsdale, Arizona

Board your flight or hop in your Hertz car rental with pre-registration and unlimited miles, headed for sunny Scottsdale, in the heart of the stirring beauty of the Sonoran Desert just a few miles east of Phoenix. Arrive at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch for five replenishing nights in a Casita suite. Your stylish suite offers a wood-burning fireplace, large living area, a rooftop deck with majestic mountain views and Regency Club access with extra perks including a light European-style breakfast, snacks and evening hors d'oeuvres.

Celebrate your first night with a culinary "Wine Me, Dine Me" journey at SWB offering authentic Southwestern flavors. This custom chef-prepared, four-course menu is artfully paired with tequila and wine options for a fun and unique experience.

Day 2: Golf Delights

After your light breakfast in the Regency Club Lounge, tee off at one of the top rated golf courses in the southwest, Gainey Ranch Golf Club. Ideal for golfers of all skill levels and exclusive to members and resort guests, this Ben-z and Poellot-designed course offers three distinct nine-hole courses, all with incredible scenery.

Following your game, grab the kids to head over to the fun zone with a 28-foot climbing wall, giant yard games including Jenga and Connect Four and a putting green. Or, enjoy the 2.5 acre water playground with 10 pools, a sand beach, three-story waterslide and poolside cabanas. If you're looking for more, relax in the Grecian-style water temples, play a game of water volleyball, get splashed at more than 40 water spouts and fountain spills, play under the 20-foot Big Gun Thunderfall, or grab a cocktail at the Grotto Bar.

Tonight, be sure to stop by the Center Stage Bar for evening bar snacks, signature beverages and live entertainment from an array of styles including soulful vocals, urban acoustic and edgy folk music.

Day 3: Scottsdale at your Leisure

Spend your day at leisure exploring Scottsdale and all it has to offer. Nestled in the heart of Old Town, discover the Civic Center Park with its public art installations including Robert Indiana's iconic LOVE sculpture. Or, find Xeriscape Garden, a local gem completely hidden from the street, where you'll find 7,000 indigenous plants across the 5.5-acre garden as you meander the easy walking path and terraced spaces.

Golfers may want to take in a second or third course with their free time. Consider The Troon North Golf Club or Phoenician Golf Club, both in close proximity. For a real treat, the Grayhawk Golf Club offers two appealing public courses: The Raptor and Talon courses.

Before retiring back to the resort, indulge in dinner at Los Sombreros, which brings the authentic recipes of rustic Mexican cantina-style dishes to the Sonoran desert. With festive patio seating and top-shelf margaritas, delight in some of the house favorites including chicken enmoladas, mole poblano, and their famed Puerco en chipotle, roasted pork in a chipotle-tomatillo sauce with Oaxaca cheese.

Day 4: Spa Avania Replenishment

Drop the kids off for a day of interactive programs at Camp Hyatt, complete with games, activities, storytelling, reptile interaction and water playground joy. And for you, a full-day of pampering awaits at Spa Avania, with its holistic approach to every treatment offered in a luxurious indoor-outdoor oasis. Begin with a Luk Pra Kob treatment. This Thai inspired massage dates back nearly 5,000 years and is considered to be an ancient healing art form. Incorporating movement and stretching to stimulate the body's ability to rejuvenate combined with the power of organic juniper berry, lavender, eucalyptus and rosemary, this treatment improves circulation and encourages inner strength and clarity of mind.

Then, spend some time utilizing the spa facilities, from the French-Celtic mineral pool, steam room and sauna to the hot and cold plunge pools. Or, enjoy the trellis covered outdoor relaxation areas and serene lotus pond.

This evening, sip a regionally sourced specialty cocktail during Happy Hour at Cantina Due. Then, partake in the theatre of Japanese cuisine at Noh with its sushi, sashimi and traditional dishes served with a contemporary twist.

Day 5: Resort Experiences

Take advantage of the plethora of activities offered by the resort with choices such as Native American dancing, mixology and guacamole-making classes, sand-castle building contests and poolside entertainment. For a romantic respite, transport yourself to the waterways of Venice aboard authentically handcrafted Italian Gondola boats, steered through the resort waterways by professional gondoliers, who serenade you along the way.

Honored by Wine Spectator for its excellent and unique wine program, dine this evening at Alto Ristorante e bar. This fine-dining Italian restaurant serves up fresh and flavorful dishes with an emphasis on the season. Enjoy dinner beside a fire pit on the terrace or savor Italy's best artisanal cheeses and meats in the Formaggio & Salumi Cellar, accompanied of course, by their extensive selection of wines.

Day 6:  Scottsdale, Arizona / Your Home Town

Start your day right, with a jog or walk around the lush 27-acre grounds with a route designed by the resort's Fitness Concierge. Then, fuel up with a hearty Spanish frittata or chilaquiles for breakfast before enjoy your scenic drive or comfortable flight home and begin planning your next vacation to the hidden treasures of the United States.
