Enjoy “barefoot luxury” tree-house living at Aqua Wellness Resout, a boutique beach resort on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast. Aqua is only two-hours from Nicaragua’s international airport by car, or 20 minutes by helicopter.

General Information

Aqua Wellness Resort is comprised of 24 luxurious, eco-friendly Tree Houses that accommodate our 50 guest villas and suites. The Tree Houses are connected to the beach, restaurant, bar, spa and yoga platform by lava-stone pathways and wooden bridges that meander through the tropical hillside landscape lush with ginger, banana trees and bamboo, and crisscrossed by streams. A secluded and peaceful natural setting ideal for a relaxing beach holiday, yoga, meditation and spa treatments that nourish the soul. Enjoy ocean activities like kayaking, fishing and world-class surfing. Or spend your time on the beach, hiking our area or checking out the surfer night scene at Gigante next door. Day-trips to explore colonial Granada, San Juan del Sur, or the iconic twin volcano Ometepe island are easy from the resort’s central location.

Room Details

Aqua’s Tree Houses serve two purposes. The first is environmental: By building above the forest floor, we minimized the resort’s impact on the forest’s delicate ecosystem. The second purpose you’ll understand especially at sunset, as you relax in your private-deck plunge pool watching the sun sink into Pacific. You will fall asleep to the tranquil waves of the ocean and wake up to the sounds of tropical nature – more birds than you can imagine and perhaps a family of howler monkeys having breakfast in the trees surrounding you.

Suite Details

Luxury Suite amenities include – 550 square feet, king bed, writing desk, ensuite bathroom with teak shower, lounge area, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor deck space with rocking chairs, private plunge pool, A/C wifi, room cell phone. Some can accomodate 4-6.

Restaurants

Aqua's Beachfront Restaurant is an open-air beachfront restaurant serving healthy cuisine with contemporary flair and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Sourcing hormone-free meats, organic produce from local farmers fresh fish daily from fishermen in Gigante. The coffee and espresso is made with organic Nicaraguan coffee beans. The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus feature American and international dishes, with everything from fish tacos and pasta to pad Thai, as well as “typico” Nicaraguan specialties such as ceviche, gallo pinto and churrasco (Nicaraguan BBQ). On Thursday nights, in the wood-burning stone-hearth oven the chefs make pizzas, and you select the toppings. Any time, the chef is happy to prepare special vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free dishes upon request.
Aqua's Beachfront Bar is perched over Redonda Bay, and is a popular gathering spot throughout the day – not just for refreshments, but also for dining. Daily 4-7 Happy Hour, when you can sip a Mojito or Nica Libre made with Nicaragua’s famous Flor de Caña rum while watching a vibrant ocean sunset.

Recreation

Start your day with a complimentary farm-fresh breakfast at our beachside restaurant, then head to our complimentary yoga class, followed by activities from horseback riding to rappelling or ziplining.

Beach

Enjoy the beautiful beach with beachside service, a number of water activities including kayaking, snorkeling, stand-up paddle board and surfing.

Spa

Aqua Spa is serene, secluded with awe-inspiring forest and oceanviews. The tree-house spa is an essential part of Aqua’s “Pure Wellness in Nature” focus. The spa features one single and one couples’ treatment room, both with showers, and open-air ocean views that take relaxation to the next level.
Spa treatments range from pedicures, facials and massages, to signature treatments that utilize organic local ingredients. Among the most popular signature treatments at Aqua are the “Organic Cacao Body Polish,” a scrub using Nicaraguan cocoa beans, yogurt and honey, which leaves the skin feeling as soft as silk; the invigorating “Mombacho Massage,” named for one of Nicaragua’s many volcanoes; the “Aqua Envelopment Body Treatment,” which uses warm volcanic clay; and the “Smoothie Body Polish,” a scrub using enzyme-rich tropical fruits.

Nearby Attractions

Explore nearby eco-sites including Masaya Volcano, Mombacho Volcano Reserve, the Granada Isletas and Ometepe Island, a UNESCO world bio-diversity site. Excursions to these pristine nature reserves include Zipline canopy tours, coffee-plantation excursions, organic- and permaculture-farm exploration, waterfall hikes, night lava viewing and horseback riding. Enjoy ocean fishing, explore beaches, or visit villages to the north or the colorful beach town of San Juan Del Sur to the south. Visit the Spanish colonial city of Granada or view turtles, dolphins or whale watching in La Flor National Pacific Reserve. Hike up the ‘Pie de Gigante’ sea cliff for stunning views and an exciting rappelling adventure, as well as mangrove bird watching and traditional fishing instruction.
