Augustine is a rare place, where the history meets newly arising tales, as the hotel was carefully transformed from Augustinian monastery dating back to 1284. Friendly monks living next door preserve authentic monastic ambience while cubist design brings in a contemporary touch.

Room Details

Many of the 101 rooms were original monk cells and the design reflects this with the wooden floor and the colors of St Augustine, while other rooms offer a more contemporary feel designed in Czech Cubist style.
Castle View Guestrooms are among the most popular due to the magnificent views of the Prague Castle or the St. Thomas Monastery. Many of the rooms are located on the higher floors with wooden beams found in the ceilings creating a unique traditional atmosphere.

Suite Details

There are seven suite styles ranging from studio size at 452 square feet to a grand 1,604 square feet with various levels of amenities and features.
Tower Suite, housed in the former astrological tower of the monastery, is made up of three floors connected by a spiral staircase offering an unique and magnificent 360 degree view of Prague. The living room is located on the first floor, large marble bathroom is on the second, and a bedroom on the third.
Presidential Suite offers a superb view of the Prague Castle and includes a separate kitchenette, dining room, luxuriously appointed living room, tastefully designed study, dressing room and master bedroom featuring a four-poster bed and spacious bathroom.

Restaurants

Augustine Restaurant is housed in a glass-covered courtyard and offers a sophisticated European menu including delicious local Czech specialties. During warm days guest may enjoy dining in a tranquil Sundial Garden, right in the heart of monastery.
Refectory Bar is located in the monastery’s barrel-vaulted, double-height hall, serving ingenious cocktails as well as the ever-popular ‘Angel Cocktails’, inspired by the bar’s carefully restored 19th century baroque ceiling frescoes. Part of the bar there is also outside seating space on blooming terrace with Champagne Bar.
St. Thomas Brewery Bar was once the cellar of the original St. Thomas Brewery. It's an iconic meeting place for locals and is available to hire in its entirety as a characterful and inimitable venue. The atmospheric basement bar features original 17th century stalactites, as well as a floating terracotta floor especially laid to protect and highlight the unique setting.
