The six-acre resort is on the Caribbean coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, conveniently located just 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport, and three miles north of popular Playa del Carmen known for its beach scene, restaurants, boutiques and nightlife.

General Information

Hidden in a small village of Playa Xcalacoco just outside Playa del Carmen, along the pearlescent sands of the Riviera Maya, Viceroy is a seaside refuge extending deep into the primitive Maya tropical forest. The 41-villa Mexico Luxury resort and its stunning spa present the epitome of Maya Riviera beach unpretentious luxury, exuding the ambience of an exclusive private Playa del Carmen villa or opulent residential compound.

Room Details

The resort features 41 villas, all with private plunge pools with many designed for privacy surrounded by luscious jungle gardens. Each villa has one king-sized bed or two queen beds. Pools measure approximately 12 to 14 feet in length and are four to five feet deep. Each villa features an outdoor terrace replete with chaise lounges, hand-carved stone dining table, handmade crochet hammock and outdoor "moon" shower. Bedding features 500-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and glorious down pillows.

Guest Services

Guest services include in-room entertainment centers, DVD players with movies, CD player with selection of CDs, satellite cable television, selection of books, hair dryers, in-room safes, high speed wire and wireless internet, complimentary newspapers in lobby, room service, soap concierge, self parking, currency exchange, dry cleaning service, spa, tour assistance and library.

Restaurants

La Marea Restaurant features a contemporaryinterpretation of Mexican cuisine with Mediterranean influences. The menu offers an array of daily specials and chef's recommendations abundant in fresh seafood and local prime meats.
The Coral Grill is situated by the sand with magnificent vistas of the turquoise Caribbean water, the newley added casual Coral Grill features "al fresco cuisine" focuses on locally caught and responsibly-fished seafood, local organic produce as well as homemade pizzas baked in the wood-fired oven.
The Libraryis the idea place to meet friends for a signature Coconut Margarita or cigars before dinner or enjoy one of the restaurant's famous desserts overlooking a Maya sunset and the lights of Cozumel Island.

Recreation

Boating is available for two-hour snorkeling and diving tours (fee), snorkeling, and SCUBA diving lessons

Beach

Seven miles of white sand beachfront are ideal for sunbathing and snorkeling. A 350-foot section is kept carefully maintained and is dotted with palapa-roofed cabanas. A new 200-foot pier extends into the ocean for deep sea swimming.

Spa

Wayak Spa where you can enliven your senses with an indulgent massage, facial or body treatment. A full-service holistic haven offering privacy, luxury and superior treatment in a serene indoor-outdoor setting.

Fitness

Indoor air-conditioned fitness center is available and yoga classes are offered on our private pier.

Other Information

"La Boutique" offers Mexican handcraft, linen and beach clothing, fashion accessories such as sandals, hats, bags, jewelry, suntan lotions, toothbrush, hand made soap, etc.
