Room Details
Each and every room boasts a Jacuzzi tub and stone fireplace along with waterfall showers. From the handcrafted canopy beds and love seats to the original stained glass and illustrated artwork you will understand the time and care put into the details of each accommodation. To insure your enjoyment of the cool mountain weather and view of the forest and Poás Volcano, we built oversized balconies complete with rocking chairs, hammocks and custom Jacuzzi tubs. The luxury boutique hotel experience continues with your choice of aromatherapy products and our selection of fine quality linens and robes.
Amenities include satellite TV, stereo system, refrigerator, and coffee maker.
The Monarch Villa leaves nothing to be desired. First there are not one, not two, but three fireplaces to set the mood for this wonderland in the Cloud Forest. The master bedroom alone invokes thoughts of romance with its king size canopy bed set before a gas fireplace. The oversized master bathroom is complete with full Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and waterfall shower. The villa is complete with a luxurious living room with a two-story fireplace and a second floor loft with a queen size bed, a single bed and full bathroom. There is a kitchenette and dining area with refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave oven.
Restaurants
Peace Lodge guest can enjoy a delicious menu breakfast each morning. Guest can either dine on the patio viewing the Poás or have breakfast served in their room, at no additional charge. For lunch guests can choose from our delicious buffet including rotisserie chicken, hot dogs, pizza and typical Costa Rican fare in the Colibries Restaurant, rated Four Forks by the ICT or enjoy a la carte waitress service in our Big Trout Bar. Each afternoon, guest are invited to the Big Trout Bar to watch the sunset and enjoy a la carte tapas and freshly made fruit drinks lakeside. Dinner becomes an event in our intimate and renovate dining room and bar in the Vista Poás Restaurant. Guests can arrive early for a pre- dinner drink, a game of backgam mon or read from our lending library.
Trout Lake: The Big Trout Bar is a fabulous place to have lunch, meet other guests over cocktails, relax in between hikes or exchange fish stories. The deck is a great place to lie in the sun or take a dip in one of our two Jacuzzis.
Recreation
Our guests are welcome to exclusively enjoy the grounds of La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park before the park opens and after it closes. The park includes three kilometers of paved Trails with Five Waterfalls, an Aviary, a Butterfly Observatory, Sloths, Monkeys, Hummingbird Garden, Serpentarium, Jungle Cat exhibit with five species of felines, Casita de La Paz, Frog Habitat, Trout Lake, Insect exhibit and Orchid Exhibit.
Spa
Enjoy a one or two hour massage, alone or at the same time as your companion in the privacy of your room. We offer both female and male masseuses trained at the University of Costa Rica. Our two-hour massages are a perfect end to a day of hiking.
Nearby Attractions
La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Reserve is open year round and offers over 3.5 kilometers of walking trails, we recommend a minimum of two hours for your visit. However, if you would like to see every trail and thoroughly enjoy the time spent in the Butterfly Observatory, Hummingbird Garden, serpentarium, Frog Exhibit, Tipical House, Trout Lake and our bird watching areas, you will probably want to stay the whole day.
Poas Volcano and Doka Coffee Plantation an informative guide will transport you to Poás, one of the four active volcanoes in Costa Rica, and impart to you the knowledge of the creation of Costa Rica via these sleeping giants. The crystal blue sulfur pools will amaze and enthrall you as you view this incredible landscape. Once you’ve had your fill of the beauty that is Poás, you will head to another of Costa Rica’s trademarks: an authentic coffee plantation. As one of the oldest hydro-powered wet mills in Costa Rica, this third generation coffee plantation has been voted the best coffee in the region. In fact, 90% of its high quality coffee is sent directly to Starbucks. You’ll learn how coffee is grown, picked, milled and ground.
Waterfall Gardens Guided Tour one of our trained staff will guide you through the trails of Waterfall Gardens. This will be your ultimate Costa Rican experience of flowers, butterflies, orchids, hummingbirds, Cloud and Rainforest, and waterfalls.
Private Bird Watching Tour is for the beginner, intermediate or ‘professional’ birder. One of our guides will take you through the trails of Waterfall Gardens and point out the spectacular birds and wildlife that have made La Paz Waterfall Gardens and the Peace Lodge their home.
