Nestled into a breathtaking, hidden cove on the southwest coast of Antigua, Hermitage Bay is surrounded by lush, untouched hillsides and the brilliant blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. Hermitage Bay is about 40 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the capital of St. John’s and just 10 minutes away from the Jolly Harbour marina complex that offers shops, restaurants, golf and tennis.

General Information

The intimate, privately-owned Hermitage Bay is comprised of just 25 luxury cottages. Spanning 16 acres of lush tropical gardens, this eco-chic, luxury hotel provides all the comforts of a 5 star resort without compromising the natural habitat that thrives around it. Open-air facilities, extensive beach and detatched rooms allow you to unwind in isolated luxury. Each of the eight beachfront cottages features a spacious split level lounge and patio, while the large wrap-around decks and private plunge pools of the 17 hillside pool suites afford the added luxury of soaking up the Caribbean sun from the privacy of your own sun bathing deck.

Room Details

Accommodations at Hermitage Bay consists of 25 individual cottages that begin on the edge of the beach and spread discreetly up the hillside as if "carved out of nature." In keeping with the resort philosophy, each has been constructed with purpleheart, greenheart, and other woods harvested from sustainably managed forests in Guyana. All rooms feature open floor plans, outdoor showers, and screened louvres in place of glass doors and windows. Each suite faces the sea, the views vary from tranquil tropical gardens and a white sand beach to spectacular panoramas of the bay, natural mangroves and a distant harbor. The décor is simple and unassuming; pristine white Italian linens, plush ivory cushions and light, textured walls soften the rich hues of the floorboards, large, comfortable furniture and vaulted ceilings. Deluxe amenities complement the rooms’ naturally beautiful, rustic charms. Elegant, mesh canopies adorn king size beds draped in luxurious Italien linens by Rivolta Carmignani. There are Green and Blacks chocolates in the mini-bars and Aromatherapy Associates bath soaps on the oversized, freestanding bathtubs. For your convenience and comfort, rooms are also equipped with an iPod docking station, 26" flat screen TV, DVD player, Wi-Fi and air-conditioning.

The resort philosophy is to reduce stress by providing gracious service and minimal distractions in a beautiful environment. Guests are greeted as if entering a home, with cool towels and signature mojito cocktails as the reception team welcomes them to the resort. All-Inclusive

As an all-inclusive luxury property, we maintain that your stay with us should be effortless and carefree. Dining services and a sample of amenities included in the daily rate are breakfast, lunch and dinner menus that change on a daily basis, afternoon snack, canapés at cocktail hour, beverages, including premium branded drinks and a selection of house wines, french Champagne and Prosecco, airport transfers via luxury 4x4, morning yoga, meditation and Pilates classes, non-motorized water sports and Wi-Fi throughout the property.

Restaurants

Beachfront Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, though the menu changes daily, there is a constant presence of local ingredients and organic produce. Offerering a varied menu of Caribbean favourites, American classics, and modern European fare with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Day or night, the dress is always island chic – laid back and comfortable, flowing skirts and loose linens. For dinner, the restaurant is transformed as tables and chairs are draped in white cloth, candle flames dance in glass vases and cool blue lights decorate the trees.

Recreation

Open-air pavillion features comfortable seating to enjoy the beauty of the infinity pool and ocean, with a full-service staff. Non-motorized watersports including snorkeling, windsurfing, Hobie cats and kayaks are available.

Beach

White sand beach and crystal clear waters, complete with sun loungers, umbrellas, and personalized service. From their base at the far end of the beach, the water sports staff are always on hand. With a number of remote, unspoilt beaches around the luxury spa resort, one of the more popular excursions is the "deserted island experience" complete with picnic lunch, sun umbrella and "rescue" at your leisure.

Golf

Two golf courese on the island include the Jolly Harbour Golf Club located just ten minutes from Hermitage Bay and the Cedar Valley Golf Course located 3 miles north of the capital, St. John’s. The Jolly Harbour course is an established par 71, 18-hole championship golf course and the Cedar Valley Golf Course is a par 70, 6,157 yard course that welcomes players of all levels. The club offers a 300 yard driving range and resident professionals available for private lessons.

Spa

Garden Spa enjoy spa treatments influenced by the ancient eastern concept of Chakra. Defined as energy centers that receive, assimilate and express your life force, there are seven chakras in total: five located along your spine, one near your brow, commonly referred to as "the third eye," and "the crown," which represents a connection with your higher self and the very essence of your being. The Dorissima colour rituals have been designed to provide the ultimate, pampered spa experience. Each unique ritual corresponds with the Chakra systems of the body to bring about physical, emotional and spiritual enlightenment. Siddhartha couples massage and Dorissima facial treatments are also availalble.

Fitness

The Fitness Center at Hermitage Bay recently opened and is fully equipped with equipment from Technogym and Jordan, including Technogym Excite 700 treadmills, Technogym Excite 700 cross trainers, Technogym upright bike, Technogym Excite Wave, fluid rower, Jordan Smith Machine and weights, dual adjustable pulley, stability ball and ab cradle, mats and space for yoga and stretching.
